Many caring individuals are discovering the benefits of planned giving, which enables you to help The Chaplaincy Fund while taking into account tax and estate implications. There are several planned giving options.
Gifts for the Present An outright cash gift goes to work immediately, meeting current needs of The Chaplaincy Fund. You receive an income tax deduction on your itemized tax return for the full donation amount.
Gifts for the Future A "deferred gift" is planned now but does not become available to The Chaplaincy Fund until a future time. Two common types of future gifts:
Charitable bequest: a gift designated in your will or living trust that allows distribution of a specific dollar amount or property to whomever you choose. A federal estate tax deduction is allowed for all charitable bequests.
Life Insurance gift: you can name The Chaplaincy Fund as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy.
Gifts that Give Back You can combine a charitable gift with lifetime income for you and/or designated beneficiaries. A charitable gift annuity or charitable remainder trust allows you to receive substantial tax deductions, maintain a lifetime income from your investments, avoid capital gains taxes, and enjoy tax-free income.
Memorial Gifts You can give to The Chaplaincy Fund in memory of a loved one.
